It is with great disappointment that we have decided to stop selling newspapers and magazines at our store.

We applied to Bromley Council for permission for one newspaper delivery from 6:00am, before the store opens, so newspapers could be ready for customers each morning.

Although the Highways Department and Environmental Health raised no objections, two objections were submitted by neighbouring residents. Bromley Council ultimately refused our application.

As a small independent business, we have already spent thousands of pounds on planning applications, assessments and professional fees. We cannot continue spending thousands more simply to receive newspapers before opening.

We did not want to remove this service.
We tried to keep it.

We can no longer provide a reliable newspaper service. This will particularly affect our elderly and regular customers, who may now have to travel further to buy their newspapers.

We sincerely apologise to every customer affected.

To the two neighbouring residents who objected: your objections have consequences beyond our business. They have helped make a valued local service unavailable to customers who relied upon it.
